I Know He's a Jehovah's Witness, but the man can shred your face off

In keeping with the title of my blog, I confess that I am in awe of great musicians. Call me a wannabe, a frustrated musician, or whatever you think fits, but I love to hear great guitar, and I really enjoy music from the Beatles. That's why, at Michael's suggestion, I tuned in to VH-1's tribute to George Harrison a year ago or so. The entire program was great, but then I experienced a bona fide moment of awe (Baptist preachers aren't allowed Zen moments).

Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, and George's son Dhani were performing an incredible version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," and then Prince showed up and took it to another level entirely. Some of Prince's antics were completely unrehearsed, as you can tell by Dhani's face. You better cover yours if you watch this. You might get hurt.

Just as a reminder, Jake Shimabukuro gives a virtuoso performance of the same song on a ukelele.

Hi.

Awe? This type of Awe?

"Baptist preachers aren't allowed Zen moments"

No Christian is allowed a Zen moment, Zen is occultic in its very nature, riddled with deceiving spirits.

I studied Martial Arts and Zen Buddhism for several years before I became a Christian and Zen is "empty mindedness," therefore a Zen moment is a moment when the mind is empty, pure and simple. An open, empty mind. A very dangerous place to be in. Zen is non-sense, nonsensical, nonsense. It is the path of fools. Many a non-Christian are demon/demons possessed through Zen. Christians are never to empty their minds. They are to gird up the loins of their minds, have on the helmet of salvation to protect their minds, to guard their hearts with all diligence for out of the heart flows the springs of life.

Some people are so earthly/worldly minded these days that they are no heavenly good.

There is so much deception in the church today it is impossible to keep tabs on it all.

I hope you are doing your best to warn your flock of all the wolves around? All the false teaching that abounds?

As a matter of fact, I am warning my flock of the false teaching all around. I'm pretty sure that no one in my flock has been led astray by George Harrison, Prince, my use of the word "awe," "zen," or even "shred." (Yeah, why didn't you mention my use of the word "shred." Surely you could have found another definition of that word.)

And I hope you try the decaf while you enjoy the music.

Isn't it fantastic that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us? But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. What greater love has God for His called out ones, eh? Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. Because of Christ's righteousness imputed to our account there is now not a "shred" of evidence available to convict us of transgression of God's perfect standard, oh what joy on that wonderful day when we meet the LORD face to face.

"Many men, after a long conversion, see more of the workings of sin in their hearts than ever they did before or at their first conversion. Now, such men have not an increase of sin, but an increase of illumination and light" ~ Christopher Love

As I watched this video, I looked behind my chair and I literally saw my "guitar weeping". Now, I don't know if it was because of it hearing Prince just jamming, or because it was laughing on what I was reading from Douglas. It's called a sense of humor, Douglas. Look it up.
