You Shall Not Worship Idols

I am preaching through the ten commandments at Buck Run, having a marvelous time as we understand that what once condemned us now becomes a pathway of grace in our lives. Terry Dick, a member of Buck Run, just sent me a link to a video and asked me if this would be an example of idol worship.

Yep. That would be it.

It is just pure animism in America. This is certainly not something unique in that you can find this going on all over the world where people are worshiping the creation rather than the creator.

“For the unseen things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being realized by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, for them to be without excuse. Because, knowing God, they did not glorify Him as God, neither were thankful. But they became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” Rom 1:20 & 21

Hello, this is a note about your book PREACHING WITH BOLD ASSURANCE. I googled you and found your blog but couldn't see where else to email you.

On p.143 it is printed, "Typically, it is best to state the proposition at the end of the conclusion, but do not shift abruptly into your first point." Shouldn't it be "introduction" instead of "conclusion"?

Thanks for your book. I have found it very helpful and been using the methods there for the last few years. In fact, I'm using it now to teach a group of about 10 lay people a course on "Speaking Clear and Compelling Messages" - http://main.wefc.org.sg/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=174&Itemid=105
