Sunday evening, May 10, 2009, my father, Wallace York, went to be with his Savior who redeemed him and fitted him for eternity through His atoning work on Calvary and His resurrection from the grave. In my deep grief, I have an unspeakable, indescribable joy. He let the peace of Christ rule his heart, so that peace did not leave him in his death. I will share more later, but my son, Michael, has jotted down some initial thoughts that aptly capture my dad's heart and life. As you read it here, please pray for my mother, my sisters, and all my family as we grieve and rejoice together.
Visitation will be held at the Morgan Funeral Home in Princeton, KY, Tuesday May 12, 4-8PM CDT. The funeral will be at 1PM Wednesday at the Southside Baptist Church in Princeton, KY. At his request memorials may be given to Baptist Faith Missions, P.O. Box 471280 Lake Monroe, FL 32747-1280.

Your friends in Middle Earth are lifting up you and your family during this time of grief. I rejoice that it is a grief with true hope.
Dr. York,
I am sorry to hear of the passing of your father. I am grateful for you sharing this testimony of the goodness and greatness of our Lord.
May our Father who is in heaven grant you and your family grace, peace, and strength in fullest measure.
Sola Gratia.
Dr. York I am sorry to hear about your father and though he is with the Lord and "we do not grieve as those with no hope", we still grieve. I will be praying for you and your family as you walk this path. God's peace be with you all.

I hardly met him, but on one occasion he spoke in your ministry class at SBTS. He spoke of continual evangelism. I remember what he said, "When I get on elevators and people ask me where I am going, I say, 'Heaven, do you know were you are going?'" I never had a conversation with him, but he made a difference in my life.

Hershael,
Your father was dearly loved by my father and mother. Our family grieves in hope with you and Tanya. Grace and peace to you from your brothers and sisters at Cornerstone in Detroit.

Dr. York,
You don't know me, but I saw you at a particular meeting in northern KY at Golden Corral a few weeks ago. (I was with Somerset Pastor Ron Shaw). I am sorry you lost your father in this world, as I lost my Dad in 2007. Breaks my heart every time I hear somebody lost their dad, but I am glad he went to glory after a good life. I am praying for you brother.
Greg
